Acting or Reacting

why do you punish? punishment is for making person feel that what he has done was wrong. this is also to instill fear of punishment among the people. punishment is never a revenge carried out by the victim. what are we going to achieve in this punishment of Kasab? i doubt any of the mentioned objectives have been achieved.
if the objective was to just kill him, why delayed so long for the simple act. it foolish to say that the souls of the people who lost their lives will rest in peace. who told this? did those souls came and told their relatives about their agony in hell they are going through and they will be happy if only they see the sould of Kasab too joining then. it is just thought and nothing more. it can be wrong too.

we have been a looser in whole process. we were looser when out intelligence agengy did not even have any idea of attack. they say, they had some information. then we are bigger looser. that, even after the information we could do little to prepare ourselves for the event. whole world knows, how the episode went on for two days. i cannot think of worse response than what was seen. irresponsible administration, police, media, politicians and everyone trying to join the group.
and what about diplomacy after the incident. it is one area where one should not believe what one sees. but i can react only on what i see. keeping that in mind. i dont thing our government achieved anything on that front too. they say that cases were filed against the preparator. but we know it will turn out to be a joke in long term. we could do little to when USA was dealing with some accomplishes. forget others we could not go beyond Kasab. our investigation agency should rethink about its relevance.
i would think of special cell for such hardened people. where they are taught that that what they have done was not against Hindus or Bharat but against humanity and very much against the very God, they have been worshiping.even if that would have taken years it would be fine. but that would have been victory of Bharat. if Kasab would have repented for killing, that would have been the culmination of punishment. i dont say they must be released. but, i am not even avert to the idea that if fully satisfies then we could have allowed him to go back to his native land.
and inspiration for this come from the act of Lord Rama, who let Suka, the spy of Ravana, return to his place. that was great blow to Ravana. we have forgotten the power of Kshama. we are still loosing everytime we react rather than act
