A New Farmer

Tips for people who want to take up farming and have never been to farming.

1. Be clear about the objective. Why do you want to take up farming? Ask yourself many times. Get confidence. Farming is not for weaklings. Farmers are one of the strongest folks the earth has ever seen. They have to equal minded in extremities. giving everything to get very few.

2. You need somebody to initiate you. knowledge is spilled in books but wisdom is rarely mentioned. farming is wisdom rather a set of knowledge.

3. Select a land. fortunate if you have got some from your forefathers but loose a chance of making choice. If you have to buy then select good one. Understand the climate and people. See what people have been doing in that region. Select what will be your primary focus and what will be peripheral concerns.

3.After land, look at your hand. What can you do? What do you need? Learn what you need. Be humble. Learn by watching and helping. You can even work as laborer.

4. Don’t shy from any job. Cleaning excreta or working for long hours. There is no one to complain to.

5. Being fit in health and mind is important. Don’t worry much. farming is single profession in which you work along with nature. Nature will keep you healthy if you keep it healthy.

6. Cooperate with other farmers. Keep your knowledge in selves and let wisdom take over. Don’t try some innovation in first few years. It may scare other farmers.

7. Sense of humour, understanding of local dialects and language is important. Understand the local politics will be more important than understanding the national and international one.

8. Be linked to the development outside in form of scientific development and seminars and training.

Above is not step by step procedure. all start at one else doomed in trice.
